A fast-growing tropical and sub-tropical tree with a broad crown. It has a multi-stemmed form branching close to the ground. The aromatic leaves are leathery, glossy, dark green dark-green above with lighter undersides. It has rose-pink funnel-shaped flowers that develop into clusters of dark purple edible fruits.
