Ficus thoningii ★ MUGUMO

An evergreen or shortly deciduous fig tree with a wide-spreading crown. It starts as an epiphyte that sends down aerial roots that takes over the host. When the host dies, the fig carries on growing without competition to become a stilt-rooted, banyan-like tree with multiple ascending trunks and massive wide-spreading branches. The leaves are glossy, dark green, slightly leathery with margin smooth.
