Strobilanthes auriculata var. dyeriana, Persian Shield, is a tropical shrub with ornamental foliage. Its leaves are ovate to elliptic with a distinctive auriculate (ear-like) base, usually displaying a vibrant green color with possible subtle veining in blues and violets. The stems are robust and support clusters of tubular, lavender to pale purple flowers that emerge in inflorescences.
