Brachychiton acerifolius ★ FLAME TREE

A deciduous tree that loses its leaves for a few weeks prior to flowering, flowering when leafless. It has a straight, cylindrical trunk. It has a stout trunk and older stems that have a wrinkled gray colored bark. It is a showy tree with a display of brilliant waxy bell-shaped red flowers in clusters. It has long dark brown woody fruit pods that split along the seam to display yellow seed.
